It always happens. I forget someone. In this case, a lot of someones. In my blog post yesterday I listed many folks I wanted to thank for their outstanding response to the flooding in Calgary and southern Alberta. One group that I forgot to mention is the City of Calgary workers who have seemingly tirelessly been working, first to close roads and bridges and keep us all safe and now cleaning up those roads, bridges and the rest of the mess left behind. I guess I need to include the Enmax folks as well in this group. Great job folks! We are all in your debt.
On another bright note, twice in the last couple days I have had to be in one or two of the flooded residential areas and what I saw is nothing short of amazing and inspiring. People everywhere. Working hard. But, not complaining. In fact, there seem to smiles everywhere. People are joking around, high fiving and supporting each other. They are working hard but the attitude seems to be, it is what it is, so let's make the best of it and have a good time doing it. I even saw a fellow standing on top of the garbage in one of those huge metal bins. He wasn't just standing there, he was juggling!
The only thing more unbelievable than the flooding is the response of Calgarians.
