Are you wondering what to do this weekend? Well, here is a great idea! This last weekend of September will see many intriguing Calgary sites "get naked" for Doors Open YYC. Calgary buildings will be opening their doors to the public - free of charge - and providing revealing behind the scene tours. No matter what your interests are, art, culture, architecture, sports, science, engineering, or health, there is something for everyone.
There are over thirty sites open this year including this partial list:
- Alberta Children's Hospital
- Chinese Cultural Centre
- Calgary Civic Complex
- Calgary Fire Training Centre
- Colonel Walker House
- Epcor Centre
- Glenmore Water Treatment Plant
- Theatre Junction Grand
- Ralph Klein Park
....and many more. To learn more and see a complete list of the sites, click HERE.
Doors Open is a well established international concept that is in its second year in Calgary. The Doors Open Calgary Association is a registered non-profit organization with a volunteer board.
This is a wonderful opportunity to get out and see some of your city that you normally never get to see. And it's FREE!!
By the way, congratulations to Kevin R. for his correct answers to the photo contest question. A blue moon is either the second full moon in a given month, or, the third full moon of four in one season. For his efforts, Kevin will receive two entry tickets to Canada's Sports Hall of Fame.
